Greetings DUG community!

The end of the 2021 has finally passed and it’s time to reflect on all that’s happened. Just like with previous years we wanna honor those who have made an impact to DayzUnderground and contributed in one way or another.

What is the DayzUnderground Awards?

Think of the Emmys or Oscars, just for DayzUnderground Community members. We have picked 10 categories, both for characters and community members to be decided and voted on.

Out of all who have been decided by the community it has now been narrowed to the top 5 results for each category. Afterwards, each category will have 1 leader from each recognized Group and Faction vote for the winner!

The Winners of the DayzUnderground Awards 2021

The lists have been checked and the results are in. Thank you everyone for voting, hope you’ve had an eventful year and here’s to the many stories of 2022! Now here are your winners!

Protagonist – Best “Good Guy”: Harry Churches (Fireflies)

Known to represent the traditional Good Guy, Harry Churches is the leader or “The Chief” of the Fireflies. They are a group of individuals working together to make the area of South Zagoria a safer place for everyone. They strive to quell the banditry and chaos and stand up against all evil wrongdoers they encounter.

Antagonist – Best “Bad Guy”: Harvey (Dark as Midnight)

Known to be one of the baddest of the bad, Harvey is the current leader of Dark as Midnight. They are an apocalypse gang in every sense of the phrase. True anarchists at heart, they liken themselves to Pirates, Gangsters, or Viking hill tribe barbarians, depending on their wild mood swings. People liken them to a cult or simply mindless cannibals, but neither are true.

Character – Character with the best development of 2021: Zirka (Ex-Wanderer, Dark as Midnight)

A Character that has gone through many arcs this year is Zirka, considered to be one of the bigger characters on DayzUnderground currently. Someone who was once just an average western citizen, they have gone from helping form the faction The Wanderers to now being a member of Dark as Midnight. Majority if not all of their story can be tracked through our DayzUnderground subreddit! The big question now is, where will they go next?

Death – Most impactful death of 2021: Toronto (The Last Guardian)

One of oldest/longest lasting characters on DayzUnderground has now passed and in such a way it has sent ripples through the community both in-game and out of it. His death may be the end of an era, but tore open many chances at new stories just about anyone who has a solid footing for their character can potentially dive in and attempt to uncover just what happened to Toronto, why it happened and who might be responsible for his downward spiral.

Story – Best Reddit story: Cat – The Devil and his Cat

Considered by many to be “one of the best stories they’ve ever read”, this 3-Part story follows Cat’s exit from Dark as Midnight and the end of her story. If you are a whitelisted member of our community you can view this story here!

Best Media – Best video or art: Covenant – The Meek Shall Inherit

Not much is known of the Convenant as they are a group known to hide in literal plain site. This video is a compilation of such encounters as well as covering some of their actions against others. You can view this video here!

Contributor – A DUG person that has contributed the most influencing content. Either through streaming, art, videos, screenshots, or stories and etc. – DrDeSync (Modder)

Member of the DUG Modding Team, DrDeSync works on and tests the DUG Mod to make sure it is ready for release. He puts the final shine on just about anything shipped out by the Team with unique images for both the Workshop and the Loading Screens that can be seen when joining the DayzUnderground server or anywhere else using the DayzUnderground Mod.

DUG MVP – Most influential Member who has impacted the community in and out of character: Zsoki (Kate/Cookie)

One of our most active members in the DUG Discord with well over 5,000+ messages is Zsoki, known for her helpful contributions in said Discord to new and old players alike!

Staff – Best Admin or Moderator: Mr. Blu

Head of the Application Process, Mr. Blu is one the friendliest of faces out of the DUG Team. A person who always has a can-do attitude with just about any situation thrown his way or even at someone else. If you ever have a question about the process or something else be sure to ask him!

Rookie – For that fresh face that has impacted the community in such a short amount of time: Incinatus/Blake

One our newer members who has already hit the ground running with their great attitude about the server and community who is willing to help out others is Blake Tirty (Incinatus) who has also published several stories with one already being featured in a recent Community Spotlight!
