This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, and sharing of personal information by DUGBot, a Discord bot developed by DayzUnderground. By joining the DayzUnderground Discord, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

DUGBot is a moderation and utility bot used within the DayzUnderground community. This Privacy Policy explains what information the bot collects, how that information is used, how long it is stored, and how users may exercise their rights. 

DUGBot adheres to all requirements outlined in the Discord Developer Policy and Discord Developer Terms of Service, including restrictions on API Data usage, user privacy, data retention, and security.

2. Information We Collect

DayzUnderground, through the usage of DUGBot collects the minimum required information of Discord API Data required to perform its moderation and automation functions.

2.1 Message Content (Privileged Intent)

Collected when performing:

Data collected:

  • Message text
  • File names of picture attachments (not file contents)
  • Channel ID
  • Message ID
  • Timestamp

2.2 Guild Member Data (Privileged Intent)

Collected when performing:

  • Spam message bot ban enforcement
  • Role checks
  • Reaction event processing
  • Moderation logging

Data collected:

  • Username and discriminator
  • User ID
  • Roles
  • Join date
  • Avatar URL (if provided by Discord)

2.3 Reaction & Event Data

Collected when:

  • Removing unauthorized reactions
  • Tracking suggestion votes
  • Handling raw reaction events

Data collected:

  • Emoji used
  • User ID
  • Message ID
  • Channel ID

2.4 No Sensitive or Prohibited Data

DUGBot does not collect:

  • Passwords or login credentials
  • Direct messages
  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Financial information
  • Protected health information
  • Data from users under 13 (per Discord’s minimum age requirement).  If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions. 

3. How Data Is Used

DUGBot uses collected data only for the following purposes:

  • Moderation to the extent of adhering to the DayzUnderground’s Discord Community Rules1
  • Reaction filtering and vote integrity
  • Thread management and automation
  • Channel renaming automation
  • AI‑assisted message scanning for rule violations1
  • AI‑assisted image text scanning for rule violations1

DUGBot does not:

  • Sell or license data
  • Use data for advertising or marketing
  • Profile users or infer personal traits
  • Train machine learning models using message content

All usage strictly follows Discord’s API Data restrictions.

4. Data Storage & Retention

4.1 Storage

DUGBot stores only essential moderation logs on secure servers controlled by the developer.

4.2 Retention

  • Moderation logs: retained up to 14 days
  • Forum Channel Posts’ data: retained until the thread is closed

After retention periods expire, data is automatically deleted.

DUGBot does not maintain long‑term archives of message content.

5. Data Sharing

DUGBot does not share any collected data with:

  • Third parties
  • Advertisers
  • Data brokers

Data is accessible only to:

  • The bot developer
  • Authorized DayzUnderground moderation staff

6. User Rights

Users may request:

  • Deletion of moderation logs involving their account
  • Information about what data has been collected
  • Correction of inaccurate data

Requests are processed within 30 days.

7. Security Measures

DUGBot uses:

  • Secure API communication
  • Role‑based access controls
  • Strict adherence to Discord’s API Data handling rules

If unauthorized access is detected, Discord and affected users will be notified as required.

8. Reporting Issues or Violations

Users may report concerns or potential violations related to DUGBot’s behavior, data usage, or moderation actions.

All reports are reviewed, and appropriate action will be taken in accordance with Discord’s Developer Policy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and we will post the updated policy on our website. Your continued use of the DayzUnderground Discord Community after we make changes to this policy indicates your acceptance of the revised policy. 

The “Last Updated” date will always reflect the most recent revision.
